Aurora Avionics Expands into Edinburgh Innovation Hub

Weโ€™re excited to share that Aurora Avionics has moved into a new home at the Edinburgh Innovation Hub โ€” a purpose-built facility designed to support high-growth science and technology companies.

This marks an important milestone for our team as we continue to scale our engineering capabilities and develop next-generation avionics systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft.

A Space Designed for Growth

The move gives us access to specialist laboratory and engineering space, providing the technical environment needed to support more advanced development and testing.

As we continue to grow, the new facility will allow us to expand our team, bring in new engineering talent, and accelerate work on guidance, control, and data systems for future missions.

As our CEO and Co-Founder Oren Smith-Carpenter puts it:

This move gives us the facilities we need to scale our work at exactly the right moment for the company.

We are building universal avionics systems that allow launch providers to operate more efficiently, more reliably and at lower cost. Having access to the right laboratory environment and technical infrastructure is vital as we continue developing that technology.

Scaling Technology โ€” and the Team

The new facility gives us the space we need not just to build technology, but to grow the team behind it.

With recent investment supporting recruitment and development, weโ€™re continuing to bring in engineers across hardware, software, and systems disciplines, strengthening our ability to deliver integrated avionics solutions.

Looking Ahead

This move is a step forward, but itโ€™s also part of a much bigger journey.

As Oren explains:

Our mission is to enable companies to launch quickly and affordably by providing avionics systems that are adaptable across many different platforms.

That versatility allows launch providers to streamline development, reduce complexity and ultimately deliver payloads into orbit faster and more cost-effectively.

With Europeโ€™s space sector evolving rapidly, weโ€™re focused on building the technologies that will power the next generation of launch and space missions โ€” and this new base gives us the foundation to do exactly that.
